Zisaji Presidency College is one of the leading institutes of Nagaland which strives to provide qualitative higher education to its students. It is a co-educational institution established on 10th July 1997 and is affiliated to Nagaland University. The College is located at Alikhong, 3 kms away from Kiphire town. It still remains the sole institute in Kiphire district bordering Myanmar for the cause of higher education. It was under private management till January 2006 under the Chairman of the Governing Body, Shri R. L. Akamba.
Since February 2006, it was taken up by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Nagaland. The college got accredited by NAAC in December 2019 with Grade – B. At present, the College is offering Undergraduate programme in Arts stream besides the certificate course in Computer.
The college also offers skill development programmes and workshops to the students. The college provide free, liberal and healthy competitive environment to help the students excel in their studies. Over the years the college has gradually built up academic and infrastructural facilities and a student friendly environment to make the college days memorable for the students.The College is enriched with scenic beauty with hilly slope of pine trees, full scale view of Saramati mountain and Kiphire town. The college draws its name from the three prominent geographical features of the District.
‘ZI’ – ‘Zingki’, the most important river of Kiphire District that fulfils the need of water resources in the District.
‘SA’ – ‘Saramati’, the highest mountain peak of the State with an altitude of 3840 meters above sea level located in Kiphire District.
‘JI’ – ‘Jingkhu’, one of the largest valleys in the State, located in the District.
The geographical features of paramount importance in the District that add to the integrity of the District in the form of Zisaji, thus becomes the ‘Presidency’ of the region.
